Gunung Hitam has become popular since Gunung Nuang (Pongsun)
is closed for public.
Getting There: Waze: Gerai Ikan Bakar Sri Nikat
*better park your car here although you could drive further
up – road is not in a good shape.
The starting point is Gerai Ikan Bakar Sri Nikat and walk
for about 2 km to reach a bridge. After crossing the bridge keep to the left
and continue walk for about 1 km to reach abandon hut within orchard. Detour
behind big rock and your hike starts. The climb is very steep and continuous –
it takes your breath away for next 2 km or so. Thereafter is rather easy hike
before reaching the summit – the border between Selangor and Negri Sembilan. No
view at the summit.
Took me 1 hour and 52 minutes to reach the summit, but I
believe it can be done with much faster pace (1:15). An average hiker would
probably need about 3 hours.
